Operation 2020's first project is Project Haiti!
During a recent trip to Cap Haitien, Haiti, co-founder Ben Workman was shocked to discover that prescription lenses were only available to Haitians at sky high prices- nearly 300 US dollars a pair! After discussing the situation with local pastors in the city, he soon discovered that the need for these glasses was well over 70%, but the price (more than a month’s wages for the average Haitian laborer) made this nearly impossible.

Upon returning to the States, Ben set about researching low cost adjustable glasses for the third world, and Operation 2020 was born.Our initial goal is to raise $10,000 in the next 6 months.This will supply roughly 1700 glasses (with a cost of about $6 a pair), and the trip to Haiti to deliver the glasses is slated for August 2011.
